In this rewarding position, you will support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring each child's developmental and educational needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and sensory activities. Support children with diverse needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting activities to promote inclusion and participation. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques, behavior management strategies, and consistent routines to create a safe and structured environment. Use effective communication skills to interact with children, parents, and team members, fostering open dialogue about each child's progress and needs. Incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods to support children with communication challenges. Assist with classroom organization, material preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe space conducive to learning and exploration. Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists or occupational therapists to support children's developmental goals. Skills Experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool or toddler care environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, including Deaf education, working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and understanding IEP processes. Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, behavior management strategies, and lesson planning tailored for young learners. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members from diverse backgrounds. Ability to adapt teaching methods for children with disabilities or special needs using inclusive practices like Montessori or other specialized approaches. Prior experience in private school settings or classrooms focused on special education is highly desirable.
