Standard Internship $ Paid Part Time Description Little Discoveries Childcare/Preschool cares for children ages 6weeks-12 years offering care 6:30am-6:00pm, Mon-Fri, year round. We offer preschool, PreK, before/after school care, nutritional CACFP approved meals and all our staff are CPR/FA certified. Our program exceeds the minimum standards required by the state licensing guidelines. We encompass the family as a whole, not as a number or a place holder. Our interns will learn how to pay attention to all the details of the child including hygiene, learning milestones, communication, emotional support, family bonding, nutrition and all this through play and interaction. The director, Fran O'Brien, makes herself readily available to answer any questions and guide her employees in their areas of need. Fellow teachers will also serve as mentors and trainers in their individual grade/age level. In classroom training will be the best practice for interns, as well as, some online recorded webinars that will be given for continued education. Responsibilities Tasks will include interacting with the children, light cleaning, planning small crafts and attending monthly continued education meetings. Qualifications Qualifications are to have a positive attitude, patience, be open-minded, and have a sense of humor. Learning Objectives Have positive communication skills. Understand or have knowledge of the child developmental milestones. Behavior management in a positive way. Activity planning that is age appropriate and child-led.
