TEMPORARY ESL
Instructional Aide Salk Elementary & Wood Elementary
START DATE
August 12 through December 4, 2026
SCHEDULE:
6.5 HOURS
PER DAY QUALIFICATIONS
Completed two (2) years of study (equivalent to 48 semester hours) of higher learning or obtained an Associates degree or passed the ParaProfessional test. Official transcripts or Paraprofessional certificate will need to be submitted as documentation. Must also meet one of the following requirements: (1) Post High school work in education or a related field, (2) Fluent command of the English language, (3) Previous instructional experience with children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Work under the supervision of a classroom teacher. b. Maintain classroom according to established expectations and structure of the supervising classroom teacher. c. Assist in planning learning experiences for the students. d. Assist in the production of instructional materials and use of technology. e. Assist in implementing daily classroom routines. f. Assist in instruction-related clerical tasks including scoring of student products. g. Tutor small groups of students in leveled groups to strengthen skills and concepts. h. Helps in the monitoring of student learning. i. Confer regularly with the classroom teacher about the programs and achievement of each student. j. Maintain confidentiality of student information/data. k. Other tasks as assigned.
