Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Morristown Elementary is seeking a special education instructional assistant for the 2026-27 school year.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside the special education teacher to meet the individual learning needs of students. Assist students in grades K-5 in small group settings, resource room, and general education classrooms. Emphasis on English/Language Arts and math skills. Other duties assigned by principal/designee.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required, associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Must pass a background check through Shelby Eastern Schools. Emphasis on teamwork, a positive attitude, and a desire to build relationships with students, parents, community members, and fellow staff members. The starting salary for new instructional assistants is $14.50 per hour. Part-Time 28 hours per week. Additional compensation possible depending on degree held.
