A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Position Requirements High School Diploma Demonstrate a genuine concern for the learning of all children Excellent communication skills Willingness to be a team player Strong organizational skills Responsibilities Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students and co-workers Ability to anticipate classroom needs, yet follow the instruction and direction of the supervising teacher Ability to work with small groups of students to reinforce learning of functional academic skills Follow through with positive behavioral supports in all educational settings Maintain professionalism and confidentiality Demonstrates a willingness to learn and participate in professional development when necessary Additional duties may be assigned throughout the course of the school year
Note :
Two positions are available. One position will be at Wood Memorial Primary and the other will be at Wood Memorial Intermediate.
