Special Education Instructional Assistant

Part-Time Special Education Instructional Assistant Position Summary:

The Part-Time Instructional Assistant provides support to teachers and students in the K-2 classroom by assisting with instructional activities, small group interventions, and classroom management. This position plays a key role in reinforcing learning concepts, monitoring student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Support classroom teachers by working with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts. Assist in implementing instructional strategies as directed by the teacher. Help manage classroom materials, prepare learning activities, and maintain an organized learning space. Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess, lunch, and transitions. Provide behavioral support and encouragement to students as needed. Assist with record-keeping, documentation, and progress monitoring. Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs or intervention plans. Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success. Follow school policies and procedures to ensure student safety and well-being.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher is a plus. Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting is preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to follow teacher guidance and adapt to student needs. Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward working with students.

Work Schedule:

Part-time, typically 33.75 hours per week. Schedule may vary based on school needs.
