PARAPROFESSIONAL REPORTS TO
Classroom Teacher/Building Principal SUMMARY :
180 Days. Salary based on Richmond Community Schools Non-Contractual Salary Schedule. This role involves traveling between two schools and delivering engaging Project Lead the Way (PLTW) lessons to students in grades K-4. The ideal candidate will have a passion for STEM education and hands-on learning experiences. They will be responsible for planning and facilitating daily lessons, integrating PLTW curriculum, and supporting students in their exploration of STEM concepts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Be present, on time, and ready to work. Maintain the high level of ethical behavior that is expected of all Richmond Community Schools staff. Maintain confidentiality of information about students and staff. Plan and prepare daily lessons in accordance with the Project Lead the Way curriculum and STEM standards. Facilitate interactive and hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students in grades K-4. Incorporate artistic elements such as visual arts, music, drama, and creative writing into STEM activities to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff members to integrate STEM across the curriculum. Provide individualized support and assistance to students as needed to ensure understanding and mastery of concepts. Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and experiment. Assist in the setup and organization of materials, equipment, and technology necessary for lessons and activities. Monitor student progress and assess learning through observation, informal assessments, and project-based assignments. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of STEM education and instructional best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to travel between two school locations and work collaboratively with diverse teams. Work closely with the Director of the STEAM and the elementary eLearning Specialist to ensure all grade levels are adhering to standards.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
: Possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Must complete training that will be available through online modules or professional development, which will be provided for your prospective job.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Good oral and written communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to problem-solve.
