QUALIFIED PARAPROFESSIONAL REPORTS TO
Classroom Teacher/Building Principal SUMMARY :
180 Days Salary based on Richmond Community Schools Non-Contractual Salary Schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Be present, on time and ready to work. Reinforce positive behavior. Assist in instructing large groups. Tutor individuals or small groups. Check informal tests. Observe and record behavior. Assist students with make-up work as a result of absence from school or class. Assist with instructional field trip activities. Assist with lunchroom activities. Work with audiovisual equipment. Assist with non-instructional activities as necessary. Assist with classroom management and organization. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or the building principal.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
: Possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Must meet one of the following requirements: Two years of college experience, a two-year college degree, passed the Para-Pro Assessment (within the first year of employment), one year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children, completed 48 credit hours of college level classes or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentials.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Good oral and written communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to problem solve.
