Job Description
Position:
Instructional Assistant
(180 days and 28.75 hours)
Location:
North Putnam High School
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Assists instructional personnel with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises
Assists the teacher in non-instructional functions related to providing the instructional program
Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units
Assists students with classroom assignments
Works with students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up instruction
Maintains discipline in the absence of the teacher
Supervises students during recess, lunch, and breaks
Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
Maintains professional appearance and behavior while on duty
Maintains regular and prompt attendance
Takes in-service training as directed
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
Promotes good public relations for the school district and community
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
