Job Description Purpose:
The Virtual Support Paraprofessional works in conjunction with licensed virtual staff members, such as school psychologists or speech-language pathologists, to assist in the facilitation of activities such as therapy services, special education evaluations, screenings, and scheduling/facilitating conferencing/meetings. Reports to: Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt, Classified Matrix Column B ($17.00 - $29.94 per hour and a 7.5-hour workday. Hourly wage depends on years of experience in a similar K-12 role.)
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Experience collaborating with colleagues, families, and students from a diverse range of backgrounds High level of competence with software systems and all applicable devices. Software system knowledge includes Microsoft Office and Google Suite Strong, effective written and verbal communication skills with a high level of competency in writing, grammar, and sentence structure Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, staff, and parents High level of confidentiality Valid driver's license Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the District Office (after an employment offer is made)
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience working with special education children and/or adults 1+ years of experience in coordinating and managing mulitiple schedules
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily: Effective collaboration, cooperation, and communication with students, families, and virtual providers React to change and frequent interruptions productively and positively, including but not limited to new duties, assignments, and student caseloads Observe and follow all school district policies, including health and safety policies Work to implement the District's vision, mission, and goals Serve as a liaison between students, families, and virtual providers Facilitate and assist with scheduling virtual evaluations, conferences, meetings, and services Prepare for virtual facilitation of services by prepping materials, maintaining the physical environment, and managing students all under the guidance/direction of a licensed virtual provider Monitor and facilitate student participation to ensure fidelity of implementation during virtual services and evaluations Implement strategies as identified by the student's individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the virtual provider Maintain regular communication with the virtual provider(s) Keep student and personnel records confidential Respond to information requested in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner Adhere strictly to professional ethics Perform clerical duties when requested to include data entry into a computer Effectively use technology equipment, virtual platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with parents, staff, and other stakeholders Regular and consistent attendance at work Travel between buildings on post as needed using a personal vehicle Perform other duties as assigned by the administration
