The Assistant Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where preschool-aged children can learn, grow, and shine. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, works well as part of a team, and is committed to supporting each child's academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, lessons, learning centers, and routines. Provide attentive supervision and maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment. Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities that encourage early literacy, math, creativity, motor development, and social-emotional skills. Help children with meals, transitions, toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and other daily needs. Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management techniques. Support children with different abilities, learning styles, and developmental needs. Assist with preparing classroom materials, organizing learning areas, and maintaining a clean and welcoming classroom. Observe children and assist with documenting developmental progress when needed. Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Follow Little Lights Learning Center policies and all applicable Kentucky child-care licensing requirements. Complete required training and professional development. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff. Qualifications & Skills Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development is preferred. Patient, dependable, nurturing, and energetic. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to actively supervise and engage with young children throughout the day. Willingness to learn and accept guidance from the Lead Teacher and Owner/Director. Must meet all Kentucky child-care employment, background check, health, and training requirements. Pay:
$12.50 - $13.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 40.0 per week
