This contract position offers full-time hours aligned with the school calendar, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2027. You'll be working closely with learners who often communicate in unique and complex ways, many of whom are on the autism spectrum or have related disabilities. Some students may exhibit challenging behaviors, including aggression toward adults and peers, making patience, understanding, and adaptability vital qualities for success.
Desired skills and qualifications include:
Associates Degree, a Paraprofessional (ParaPro) score of 450 or higher, or at least 48 semester credit hours (required) Prior experience in a classroom environment Ability to read and interpret IEPs Familiarity with students who have Autism or comparable disabilities CPI training, de-escalation strategies, significant behavior experience, and CPR certification (preferred, not required) Ability to clear drug testing, fingerprinting, and standard background checks as part of onboarding As part of your responsibilities, youll: Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Engage with students using a variety of communication strategies and supports Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors compassionately and effectively Support daily classroom routines and provide guidance throughout students activities This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated paraprofessionals eager to make a genuine impact on students educational journeys in a collaborative and supportive environment.
