Category Schools - Interpreter Job Type Contract Soliant Education - ASL Paraprofessional (American Sign Language) 2026-2027 School Year Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASL Paraprofessional to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working under the direction of certified teachers, Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, and school administrators, the ASL Paraprofessional will provide communication support, instructional assistance, and classroom accommodations to help students access the curriculum and participate fully in the school community. Essential Responsibilities Provide ASL interpretation and communication support for students throughout the school day. Assist students with classroom instruction, assignments, and educational activities. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom accommodations. Reinforce teacher-directed instruction in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using American Sign Language. Assist with classroom management while encouraging student independence. Support students during lunch, recess, field trips, assemblies, and other school activities as needed. Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support student success. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
