Job Description

Position Summary:
The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education assistant to work within the special education department at the Acton Boxborough Regional Schools The assistant will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in the general education classrooms combined with specialized learning center instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for studentsWork with lead teacher to provide academic, social, and emotional support and interventionWork collaboratively with team of general education and special education teachers and therapistsCollect data
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in special education or related field preferredExperience in public school settingExperience working with children with disabilitiesAble to take initiative and work independentlyKnowledge of early childhood and adolescent development
