Aug 25, 2026 Job Description Overview Paraprofessionals support transition-age students (18-22) in developing academic, social, vocational, and independent living skills across classroom, community, and college campus settings. This position focuses on fostering independence, promoting inclusion, and ensuring students can meaningfully participate in individualized transition programming. Key Responsibilities Support students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities in classroom, community, vocational, and college-based environments. Coach students in skills such as organization, time management, study habits, self-advocacy, social communication, life skills and personal safety. Assist students at job sites by modeling tasks, monitoring performance, and encouraging workplace behaviors. Provide travel training and support safe navigation in community and college settings. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, job-site supervisors, and college personnel to implement accommodations and learning strategies. Maintain required documentation and communicate regularly with the Special Education Case Manager. Build positive, professional relationships and uphold confidentiality. Qualifications Commitment to inclusive practices that support students academically, socially, and vocationally. Experience working with diverse learners in school or community settings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
