Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Preschool Paraeducator at Crocker Farm Elementary. This full-time position involves supporting the educational and developmental needs of young children in a preschool setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment, fostering social, emotional, and cognitive growth among students. This is a Unit C position within the APEA Bargaining union. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing their individual needs and learning styles. Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and participation, providing feedback to the lead teacher. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive interactions with peers. Assist with classroom management, ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to support student success and address any concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. Assist with daily routines, including snack time, outdoor play, and transitions between activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies. Proficiency in using technology and educational software relevant to early childhood education. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Background check and clearance required prior to employment.
