Essential Functions :

The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom/shop teacher to coordinate instructional efforts. Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs. Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role-playing. Assists students as assigned, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts. Assists the teacher in preparing the room for school and in keeping the classroom/shop neat and orderly. Help prepare and distribute lesson materials; assist the teacher in arranging bulletin boards, class displays, learning center materials, parent notices, etc. Assist in storing materials and getting the classroom/shop ready for closing of school. Responsible for distribution of correspondence. Any other relative duties as required by the Classroom/Shop Teacher and/or Administrator.

Education and Experience:

Associate's Degree or Passing Score on the ParaPro Test Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge :

Must demonstrate an interest in working with adolescents. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction. Must have well-established communication skills and the ability to share information and resources appropriately. Must possess a high-level of interpersonal skills; general pleasant demeanor and respectful attitude towards employees at all levels of the school. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and maintain confidentiality.
