Fri Sep 4 2026 Position Summary The Navigate360 Student Support Assistant supports RCC's student success and retention initiatives by helping students effectively access and use Navigate360 and other College resources. Working collaboratively with Student Success and Retention staff and participating Care Units, the Student Support Assistant provides peer-facing technology support, conducts coordinated student outreach, assists with workshops and engagement activities, and helps connect students with appropriate academic and student-support resources. This Level II position is designed for students who are prepared to apply communication, technology, organizational, and interpersonal skills with increasing independence while developing professional experience in student success operations, educational technology, outreach, and student engagement.

Supervisor:

Dr. Jalal Ghaemghami Federal Work-Study Responsibilities Assist students with logging in to and locating basic student-facing features in Navigate360. Provide routine directions on appointment scheduling and where to locate approved RCC resources. Prepare outreach lists, handouts, sign-in materials, and other student-success materials as directed. Enter or organize non-confidential program information and maintain routine activity logs. Refer advising, academic, financial-aid, or case-management questions to the appropriate professional staff member. Assist with check-in, room setup, and other administrative support for student-success workshops and events.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff. Ability and willingness to learn workplace and educational technology. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to complete assigned responsibilities with appropriate independence. Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Navigate360/EAB. Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Canvas, or similar platforms. Familiarity with RCC student resources and services. Previous peer-support, customer-service, outreach, or student-engagement experience.

Federal Work-Study Compliance Notes This FWS assignment is part-time, on-campus student employment and is contingent upon continued Federal Work-Study eligibility and available award funding. FWS students may perform only the duties identified for the FWS assignment and approved by the supervisor; Learn & Earn responsibilities are not interchangeable with FWS duties. Students and supervisors are responsible for monitoring scheduled hours, so the student does not exceed the approved FWS award or institutional work-hour limits. Timesheets must accurately reflect hours actually worked and be approved by the designated supervisor through the College's approved timekeeping process. Supervision & Performance The Navigate360 Student Support Assistant reports to Dr. Jalal Ghaemghami and works in collaboration with Student Success and Retention staff and participating Care Units. Students will receive regular supervision, feedback, and opportunities for professional development. Student employees are expected to comply with RCC Student Employment policies and department expectations. Performance concerns will be addressed through RCC's progressive intervention process.
