Full Job Description Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support to student(s) under the direction of a supervising classroom teacher.

Provide assistance to students with IEPs with accessing the curriculumCommunicate student related concerns to the supervising teacher in a timely, professional mannerAssist the classroom teacher in observing, recording, and charting student academic and IEP goal progress.

Provide support with preparing classroom materials consistent with individual student needs, as directed by the classroom teacher.

Participate in professional development activities and student meetings when requested to do soAssist with student(s) arrival and dismissal as required by IEPRespect student confidentiality in all interactions with staff, parents, and school communityUses specialized strategies and techniques as directed by supervising teacher(s)Develops an understanding of the student(s) accommodations, modifications, goals, and objectives stated in the IEPsAssists in the implementation of 1:1 or small group instruction and supports including accommodations, modifications, and organizational skills assistanceAssists in implementation of testing accommodationsAssists with study skills and strategiesModels and promotes appropriate communication, socialization, and conversational skillsSupports students behavioral issues including assisting with the implementation of behavior intervention plans and collecting dataCollects student work samples as requestedMonitors students in unstructured settings such as hallways, cafeteria, auditorium etcAttends field trips when requestedAssists with daily living skills as necessaryFosters independent learning skillsOther duties as assigned by the Special Education Director, Assistant Superintendent/Principal, and/or Assistant Principal.
