Qualifications:
High school diploma/equivalent; Associates Degree in Office Administration/ Secretarial training preferred Experience in a busy office environment; able to multi-task Superb organizational skills Understands and complies with Confidentiality requirements Demonstrated fast keyboarding skills (65+ wcpm) Experience with Word, Excel, database programs Ability to work within fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of office operations, practices and procedures; have exceptional Organizational skills; have the ability to accomplish work with frequent interruptions; possess Clerical and filing skills; demonstrate consistently and with the utmost discretion strict
CONFIDENTIALITY
of matters related to students, families, and staff; demonstrate Timeliness in completion of tasks; demonstrate a tactful, warm, friendly and competent public demeanor; has the ability to work cooperatively with others; have Knowledge of and ability to operate office equipment such as computers, fax machines, shredders, copiers, etc.; possess Speed and accuracy with keyboarding and word processing skills; Knowledge of and application of English usage and spelling; knowledge of and accuracy with basic mathematic functions; Knowledge of how to use Excel to create and enter data into various documents.
General Areas of Responsibility:
Assists the Special Education Coordinator(s) with various paper work tasks. Performs various clerical tasks, including but not limited to scheduling, typing, filing, data entry, and telephone tasks. Photocopies and distributes documents as directed by Coordinator. Specific job tasks: Photocopies reports, articles, or other documents and distributes to identified persons. Types various documents, such as letters, memos, team meeting notices, miscellaneous reports. Data entry of essential student information into special education management software; creates, 'runs' reports using special education management software as directed by coordinator(s). Files documents as indicated by Special Education Coordinator. Makes telephone calls to parents, staff, others to establish/confirm meeting dates/times. Make and/or return telephone calls and relay messages for coordinator. Types and sends e-mail messages as directed by coordinator. Performs other duties that may be assigned by the special education coordinator to assist in the flow of information amongst special education staff and/or parents.

Regularly communicate and exchange information with students, staff, and the public, both in person and via telephone or email.
Possess Visual Acuity:
Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and reading printed materials.
Move Occasionally:
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Lift and Transport:
Occasionally lift, move, or transport objects (such as files, paper boxes, or small equipment) weighing up to 20 pounds.
Perform Repetitive Motions:
Frequently make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (e.g., typing).
Handle Occasional Bending/Reaching:
May need to bend, stoop, or reach for files or supplies. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment within a school setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee regularly interacts with students, staff, and the public.
