Position:
English Learner (EL) Teacher Assistant
Location:
Stacy Middle School
Schedule:
2026-2027 School Year, 30 hours/week
Salary:
Per Contract

Qualifications:
  • Experience working with English learners;
  • Demonstrate the ability to assist in the Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) and English Language Development (ELD) classroom;
  • Proficient in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Work under the supervision of middle school administration, EL Program Director, EL Coordinator, and ESL and SEI teachers;
  • Assist small groups and/or individual ELs within the mainstream SEI and ELD classroom with guidance provided by the SEI and/or ESL teacher;
  • Assist small groups in core-content classrooms and provide in-class intervention and support with guidance provided by the EL Director, EL Coordinator, and ESL and SEI teacher(s);
  • Communicate and collaborate with ESL and SEI teachers;
  • Assist with the administration of the
WIDA ACCESS
state assessment;
  • Assist with the administration of Ellevation Benchmarks Progress Monitoring;
  • Assist with the filing of EL cumulative paperwork;
  • Provide native language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) clarification and/or support to ELs in the SEI classroom;
  • Assist students with digital literacy skills and support; and
  • Family and parent outreach, when applicable, is requested by EL Director, EL Coordinator, ESL teacher, SEI teacher(s), and/or building principal.
