Full Job Description Job Summary:
A Paraprofessional assists teachers in the classroom, supervise students outside of the classroom, or provides administrative support for teaching. This position is considered a 88% FTE (7 hours per day) position for 183 days during the academic year.
Reports to:
Classroom teacher and
Principal Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the instruction of an individual student including assistance in the laboratories, washrooms, playgrounds, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, libraries, field trips and all other educational settings as determined by the classroom teacher. Assist the student and teacher in the areas of classroom management and instructional support. Provides reinforcement to individual of direct material initially taught by the classroom teacher. Provides classroom coverage as needed. Responsible for guiding any enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the classroom teacher. Assists individual students in any testing. Assists in lunch, recess and dismissal duties. Performs other duties as may be necessary and assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Principal.
