DUTIES:
Responsible to LI Program Coordinator, Special Education Teacher, and Special Education Supervisor. Provide instructional assistance and social-emotional support, under the direction of the teacher, to a small group or individual student(s). Responsible for clerical services such as preparing, duplicating, organizing, and distributing materials to children as well as other miscellaneous clerical tasks. Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans and classroom routines and procedures as directed by the classroom teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public Schools. Has not received a layoff notice.
Preference will be given to paraprofessionals presently working in the same program during the academic year.
Preference will be given to 1:1 paraprofessionals who currently work with a specific student in an extended year program to facilitate continuity of instruction and social/ emotional development.
Availability required for entire program work schedule. Secured position for school year 2026-2027.
