Job Description

Walpole Public Schools is seeking a teacher aide (kindergarten), 18.75 hours per week, at Elm Street School effective August 31, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year.
Kindergarten Aide Role :
The Kindergarten aide supports students socially, emotionally, and academically in a kindergarten classroom and reinforces behavioral expectations across all settings - playground, halls, Art, Music, PE, etc. The Kindergarten Aide collaborates with classroom teachers.
Duties:
Assist the classroom teacher in creating an environment that is conducive to learning. Assist in maintaining standards of student behavior and the school's core values. Assist classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned. Assist in providing individual and small-group instruction. Assist with transitions - e.g. arrival, from one learning activity to another, dismissal. Alert the teacher to the needs of individual students. Provide individual assistance to children as necessary. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Help maintain expectations in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on task. Perform related work as required. Salary and benefits per the Cafeteria/Teacher Aide Contract.
