1 West Springfield, MA Job Details Full-time $100 a day 11 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Long-term Substitute Special Education ParaprofessionalTatham SchoolDescription of work: To work closely with student (s) under the direction of a teacher in an effort to facilitate the progress of the student in meeting the goals stated and to provide other instructional and support assistance as required by the teacher.
Duties:
  • This position involves working with students with Autism in a structured environment based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Support students and teachers in an ABA classroom. May include lunch duty and coverage for the teachers during meetings or if they are absent (with stipend)
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred-Work with individual students or small groups of students in independent study, skills work, and remedial work assigned by the teacher
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
  • Assist in gathering data on students
  • Participate in in-service training programs, as assigned
  • Safety care training which will be provided by WSPS
  • Inform the teacher of any problems or special information about students
  • Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips
  • Assists the teacher in duties relating to the supervision of playground, lavatories, cafeteria, and bus loading activities
  • Assists with lunch, snack and clean-up routines
  • Any other duties as assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School DiplomaPreferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or 48 college credits attained, or WorkKeys completed
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
  • Experience working with students with autism
  • Background in ABA
  • Such alternatives found to be appropriate
Salary:
$100.00 per day worked
