Position Overview
Weston is seeking to hire a Learning Assistant to provide academic, social, and behavioral support to students in collaboration with the classroom teachers at Woodland Elementary School. This is a regular role, 7 hours per day (6.5 + a 30 minute unpaid lunch), Monday-Friday, when school is in session, reporting to the School Principal. About the Weston Public Schools
The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 167 students (K-12).

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Teaching experience preferred, ideally in a diverse public school setting
Experience working with students with special needs, behavior background preferred
Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
Compensation and Benefits
A Learning Assistant will earn between $27.18 - $33.52 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
