Aug 24, 2026 Job Description Anticipated Paraprofessional Position(s) (Third and Fourth Grade) and (1:1) Beginning in August 2026 R.H. Conwell School, a small rural public school serving students in preschool through grade 6, is seeking caring, flexible, and student-centered individuals to join our team as anticipated paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year. Paraprofessionals at R.H. Conwell play a vital role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally in a close-knit, community-focused learning environment. We value collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to nurturing the whole child.Position Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting individual students or small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher or specialist
- Assisting with classroom instruction, learning activities, and behavioral supports
- Helping implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student plans (IEPs, 504s, or other learning plans)
- Supporting students with social-emotional learning, self-regulation, and positive peer interactions
- Assisting with transitions, routines, and daily classroom operations
- Collaborating with teachers, specialists, and support staff to meet student needs
- Supervising students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, or other non-instructional times as needed
- Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth program setting
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive, student-centered approach
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or coursework in education preferred
