Job Description

KinderCare is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our team at Cherokee Lane Elementary. In this on-site role, you will support lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging classroom where young children can learn and grow. Responsibilities include assisting with daily lessons and activities, supervising children, preparing materials, and helping maintain an organized environment. You will model positive behavior, build trusting relationships with children and families, and contribute to an inclusive, nurturing school culture with opportunities for professional growth. Responsibilities Assist lead teacher with daily classroom activities and lessons Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being at all times Support implementation of age-appropriate learning activities Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment Communicate positively with children, families, and staff Assist with arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the day Reinforce classroom rules and positive behavior strategies Prepare and organize learning materials and supplies Support individual and small-group instruction as directed Follow all school and Kinder Care policies and child safety procedures Required Skills Classroom management support Child supervision Early childhood education practices Lesson and activity support Behavior management strategies Safety and hygiene procedures Parent and family communication Organization and time management Team collaboration Basic documentation and record-keeping
