In this dual role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children to and from our daycare center while providing attentive support to teachers and children during daily activities. Your enthusiasm, reliability, and commitment to child safety will help create a nurturing environment where young learners thrive. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine transportation responsibilities with meaningful classroom assistance, ensuring a positive experience for children, parents, and staff alike. Responsibilities Safely operate the daycare van, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols to transport children between their homes and the center. Assist teachers with supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and engagement at all times. Support classroom management by helping implement age-appropriate educational activities focused on child development instruction and early childhood education principles. Maintain open communication with parents regarding transportation schedules, daily activities, and any concerns related to their child's well-being. Follow mandated reporting laws by recognizing signs of abuse or neglect and reporting any concerns in accordance with state regulations. Assist with basic first aid or pediatric first aid as needed, ensuring children receive prompt care in case of minor injuries or health issues. Help maintain a clean, organized classroom and vehicle environment, promoting hygiene standards and safety protocols for all children. Experience Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting is highly preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus. Knowledge of childhood development stages, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies is essential. Previous daycare center experience or nannying/babysitting roles that involved child supervision and care are valuable assets. Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or will be provided upon hire. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child safety regulations ensures compliance with legal standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, and team members fosters a collaborative environment focused on child well-being.
