Assistant Teacher (8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, potential for start time of 7:30 a.m.) The Manor Montessori School has an opening for a Montessori Assistant teacher in our school. Manor offers a Montessori education, as well as quality before and after-school programs, provided by our professional and caring staff. We have preschool programs with extended, full and half-day plan options. Our teachers are dedicated to assisting each child in attaining their optimal education and social potential. Through the Montessori teaching methodology, we provide an enriched program that makes learning challenging, exciting, and enjoyable. The qualified candidate will have a strong work ethic, be flexible, have a passion for working with young children, as well as excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed the 45 Hour Child Growth and Development and 45 Hour Preschool Methods and Materials courses. Specific Job Responsibilities Report directly to the teacher or group leader for the room(s) you are assigned to. Responsible for the supervision of all children, at all times. Assist in preparing and attending to snack/lunch. Responsible for assisting children's individual needs, as required. Ensure the classroom is clean and presentable at all times. Assists in maintaining consistency and order in the classroom. Monitor classroom needs/supplies. Assists the teacher in planning and preparing classroom activities. Responsible for the well being of ALL children on the playground. General Requirements Must be punctual Detail-oriented & hard-working Must be respectful, reliable and dependable (references will be checked) Able to multitask Able to follow directions Adaptable to change Must have reliable transportation Must be able to pass a background check
