Position Summary Daycroft School is seeking a warm, reliable, and nurturing Associate Toddler Teacher to support a Montessori classroom serving children between 18 and 36 months old. The associate teacher works closely with the lead teacher to ensure a consistent and supportive environment for toddlers to explore, grow, and thrive. This full-time position begins in August 2026 and offers the opportunity to learn from experienced Montessori educators while gaining hands-on experience in a deeply supportive and collaborative teaching environment. Associate teachers are essential members of the Daycroft community and are encouraged to grow professionally through mentorship, training, and participation in classroom planning and care. Key Responsibilities Support the lead teacher in implementing the Montessori toddler programming through hands-on work with individuals and small groups of children. Assist in maintaining a calm, safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment in accordance with Montessori principles and LARA (Licensing and Regulatory Affairs) guidelines. Help guide children through daily routines such as toileting, handwashing, meals, and napping with consistency, kindness, and patience. Observe children and share insights and observations with the lead teacher to support individualized learning and care. Communicate daily with families through positive, respectful exchanges and support classroom documentation practices. Maintain classroom materials and prepare the environment to support independence and exploration. Collaborate closely with the lead teacher and fellow associate teachers to ensure a cohesive and joyful classroom experience. Attend monthly faculty meetings and participate in professional development opportunities. Ideal Candidate Qualifications A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with young children in a group setting, preferably toddlers. A strong interest in Montessori philosophy; previous experience in a Montessori environment is a plus. A calm, caring, and dependable presence who enjoys working with toddlers and understands the importance of early childhood development. Coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or CDA certification is preferred. CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
