Overview Join our dedicated educational team as an Upper Grades Paraprofessional, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly support the academic and social growth of students in upper elementary and middle school grades. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with teachers to implement lesson plans, manage classroom activities, and foster an inclusive learning environment. Your energy and commitment will help students develop essential skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional learning, ensuring they thrive academically and personally. Duties Assist teachers in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as English, math, and science. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, organized environment conducive to learning for diverse student needs. Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support to students with varying abilities, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring equitable access to education. Help implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and productive classroom interactions. Facilitate literacy and numeracy activities that enhance students' reading, writing, and mathematical skills through engaging instructional techniques. Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs. Support students' social-emotional development by fostering communication skills, encouraging positive behavior, and promoting a supportive classroom community. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, private schools, or early childhood programs is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and effective classroom management techniques. Experience assisting with lesson planning and curriculum implementation across core subjects including literacy education and math instruction. Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management strategies, and working with students who have disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to support student success. Technical proficiency in educational tools and resources used for curriculum development and classroom management. Strong communication skills to clearly convey instructions and foster positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
