Assistant Toddler Teacher Stepping Stones of Grosse Ile | Riverview Do you have a patient heart, a playful spirit, and a genuine love for young children? Stepping Stones is looking for a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our growing team. Our Assistant Toddler Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and enriching classroom where toddlers can explore, build relationships, develop independence, and discover a lifelong love of learning. Responsibilities Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate activities using the HighScope curriculum Build warm, responsive relationships with each child Support children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development Engage children in hands-on learning, sensory play, music, movement, stories, and outdoor experiences Assist with meals, diapering, toilet learning, rest time, and other daily care routines Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Observe children and assist with documenting their development Communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health practices, and safety procedures Provide consistent supervision and support throughout the day

Qualifications Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements for the position Experience caring for toddlers in a licensed childcare setting is preferred A genuine passion for working with young children Patient, dependable, energetic, and nurturing Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to actively participate in classroom activities and safely perform the physical responsibilities of the position CPR and First Aid certification—or willingness to obtain certification Willingness to complete required professional development and training HighScope experience is helpful but not required Why Join Stepping Stones?
