Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at JPS Montessori Center as an Instructional Paraprofessional. This part-time position involves supporting classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, assisting them in their academic pursuits and helping to facilitate their personal and social development. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing learning concepts and skills. Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement during classroom activities. Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation. Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or English language learners. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources. Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch and recess, ensuring their safety and well-being. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to address student needs and enhance educational outcomes. Participate in professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic understanding of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques. Proficient in using technology and educational software to support learning. Must pass background checks and meet any other state or district requirements for employment.
