Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic, student-focused environment as a paraprofessional supporting learners for the 2026-2027 school year, with positions available for an immediate start through June 11. This contract opportunity involves working full-time—37.5 hours weekly, typically between 7:15am-3:15pm or 8:15am-4:15pm, depending on building assignment. You may be paired one-on-one with students across a range of educational settings, including self-contained, resource, or general education classrooms, and support learners with cognitive or emotional impairments of all grade levels. Daily responsibilities can include providing hands-on assistance—such as toileting or diapering—for students with cognitive impairments, fulfilling a role similar to a health aide. The district values flexibility, and your skills may be matched to classroom types based on preference and need.
Desired Qualifications:
Completion of at least 60 semester hours of college credit (official transcripts required), or An associate's degree or higher, or Passing score on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment (minimum 460), or Passing SAT scores (at least 480 on evidence-based reading/writing, 530 on math) Experience or openness to working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain student dignity in all tasks
