Job Description

Job Summary Seeking reliable & professional team players with flexible or open availability. Must hold a positive attitude and have a love for children. Strong communication skills, ability to maintain active supervision and classroom safety while supporting lead teachers in maintaining the flow of the schedule. Candidate must be comfortable changing diapers, engaging with children, and supporting children in the classroom by keeping them on track. Experience in childcare preferred (but willing to train the right candidate!). Knowledge of Michigan Licensing Rules is a plus. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Support children's development by working closely with their needs. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, creating a safe and respectful environment. Light cleaning around the center and closing out classrooms for the evening. Communicate regularly with lead teachers and directors about student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. Cover different classrooms as needed, stepping into various roles to ensure continuity of instruction and care. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred; classroom experience is highly valued. Familiarity with childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, mentoring students, and engaging families effectively. CDA or Associate's degree in early childhood preferred but not required. Ability to manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management techniques successfully. A caring and kind individual who is aware of developmentally appropriate practice and has a passion and love for working with children.
Pay:
$14.00 per hour
