Job Summary:

The MTSS Instructional Assistant assists the classroom teacher in providing multi-tiered systems of support to students in the classrooms. The assistant works directly with students who have a variety of needs, including physical, emotional and learning, providing personalized assistance. Some of the responsibilities include providing one-on-one or small group instruction, supporting classroom activities, support intervention strategies, and collect data on student progress.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Positive attitude and rapport with students Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and students

Desired Qualifications:

Experience as an instructional assistant College classes in English, math, and/or education

Job Description:

Assist in the tutoring of individual students or groups of students Assist teacher in helping students develop a positive self-concept Assist in student intervention work & progress monitoring Assist in the preparation of intervention materials Assist in keeping intervention materials & room neat and orderly Work collaborative as member of building Multi-Tiered Systems and Support (MTSS) team Supervises students upon arrival to school Supervises a portion of lunch recess Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school-related information Shall perform other duties as assigned by the principal

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking. The position requires occasional lifting of students, supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day. Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, 4.00 hours daily, 20.00 hours weekly, August to

June Salary:

$14.05 per hour
