Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking one full-time and one part-time assistant teacher to provide exemplary care and guidance to toddlers in our Montessori setting. We have a fun and busy classroom, and we focus on assisting toddlers as they develop independence and competence in their physical, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. This role offers meaningful work contributing to the care and education of individual children while providing support to the greater community which relies on a strong child care network for working parents and community success. The position also provides valuable classroom experience that can pave the way for future educational careers. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in supporting the daily classroom routine and procedures. Support children's social and emotional development through observation, personal connection, and positive role modeling. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and early childhood development. Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and safety. Provide care through assisting with all daily routines including diapering, potty training, serving snacks and meals, and with dressing and outside transitions. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily experiences to foster strong partnerships. Requirements Prior experience working with toddlers or in early childhood education settings is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage with young children. A desire to study Montessori theory and application in the classroom is required.
