Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Schoolcraft Elementary as a part-time After School Care Paraprofessional. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students after school hours. The ideal candidate will work Monday-Thursday, 3:00-5:00 PM. Friday hours are 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Responsibilities Supervise and engage students in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, sports, and homework help. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging teamwork, respect, and good behavior. Monitor student interactions and provide guidance to resolve conflicts or behavioral issues. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students with special needs or specific challenges. Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring all materials and supplies are properly stored. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the program coordinator or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or child development preferred. Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students and parents. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development. Basic knowledge of child development principles and behavior management strategies. Must pass a background check and adhere to all school safety policies. Availability to work after school hours, typically from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM on school days.
