GSRP Associate Teacher- Half Day Faith Troy Preschool Troy, MI Job Details Part-time From $18 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Professional development assistance Qualifications School experience Cleaning Lesson planning Teaching experience with young children Associate's degree Early Childhood Education Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Overview The GSRP Associate Teacher is responsible for assisting the lead teacher in planning and implementing a high-quality preschool program that aligns with GSRP requirements, supports school readiness, and promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children. This role supports classroom instruction and maintains compliance with state guidelines, including curriculum, assessment, and family engagement. This role also includes assisting with Bible Time afterschool. Responsibilities Classroom Leadership & Instruction Assist the teacher to plan and implement daily lessons using a research-based curriculum (We use The Project Approach) Create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment Support child-initiated and teacher-guided learning experiences Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior using positive guidance strategies Ensure consistent supervision and adherence to licensing ratios Assessment & Documentation Under the instruction of the lead teacher, conduct ongoing child assessments using tools such as Teaching Strategies Gold Help the lead teacher to maintain accurate and up-to-date child records and documentation Family Engagement Build strong and respectful relationships with families Assist with parent-teacher conferences and share developmental progress Program Compliance Follow all GSRP guidelines, policies, and procedures Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations and program standards Collaborate with assigned Early Childhood Specialist (ECS) Assist the lead with attendance, documentation, and reporting requirements Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement efforts Health, Safety & Environment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Follow all health and safety procedures, including emergency protocols Ensure proper meal/snack supervision and CACFP compliance (if applicable)
Qualifications Required:
Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or a CDA Credential Experience working with preschool-aged children •A compliance plan may be available for those pursuing a
CDA Preferred:
Experience with The Project Approach and TS Gold assessment Prior GSRP classroom experience Skills & Competencies Strong classroom management and instructional skills Knowledge of child development and early learning standards Effective communication with children, families, and staff Organization and documentation accuracy Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment Work Schedule Monday-Thursday Typical hours aligned with GSRP program (e.g., 8:30AM - 1:30 PM) Additional time for planning, conferences, and professional development as needed Position starts for the 2026-27 school year Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Frequent standing, bending, and sitting on the floor Active engagement with young children throughout the day What This Role Drives School readiness outcomes Strong family partnerships High-quality classroom environments Compliance with GSRP and licensing standards
