Per VPA Contract Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students in a Middle School setting. The Intervention Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide assistance to students, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. The position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. This position works 7:15-2:45pm, Mon-Fri, student days only, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, approximately 35 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom, during transitions and other settings, addressing any behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with other education professionals to support student needs through targeted one-on-one, or small group academic and behavioral intervention strategies and adaptation of classroom materials and activities to meet the unique learning needs of assigned students.
- Provide intensive, individualized instruction to reinforce skills in reading, math and writing under the direction of a teacher.
- Provide encouragement and motivation to help students build confidence and independence.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, track data for progress monitoring and report progress to teachers.
- Support students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
- Other related duties as assigned by building principal or their designee.

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associate degree or higher in education, or passing ETS Paraprofessional exam score, is preferred.
- Previous experience working with middle school aged children is highly desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to regular and predictable attendance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students and staff.
- Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
- May require and employee to lift and/or move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
- May require working in both general and special education environments.
