Full Job Description Wyandotte Early Childhood Programs Associate Teacher Posting TITLE:
Associate Teacher in
Tuition-based Program SUMMARY:
The Associate Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in a childcare or preschool classroom located within the Wyandotte Public Schools Early Childhood Center. The Associate Teacher will assist in providing an appropriate and safe climate; establishing and reinforcing acceptable pupil behaviors, attitudes, and social skills; and assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons. :
  • Supervises individual and group activities to stimulate developmentally appropriate growth in all areas of development.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures developed for the Wyandotte Early Childhood Program and State of Michigan licensing guidelines.
  • Develops positive, professional relationships with classroom lead teacher, program staff, students, and families.
  • Ensures that licensing ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Assists in planning developmentally appropriate learning opportunities based on student learning goals.
  • Assists in maintaining program records and student assessment data.
  • Other related assigned duties as needed by the Director of Early Childhood.
1. High school graduate required. 2. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) preferred. 3. Some experience working in an Early Childhood setting preferred. 4. Must have, or be able to obtain, DHS Clearance, CPR and First Aid training. The Associate Teacher reports directly to the Early Childhood Director and works cooperatively with other early childhood staff within the school building and District.
    Work Year:
    follows the school calendar, plus 3 days at the beginning of the year.
    • This is an at-will position contracted through a third party contractor.
    • Base salary: $15.75 per hour
    • Holidays and sick days per annual Work Agreement.
    • Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
