Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting students in an educational setting as an ASL Paraprofessional. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a significant impact by working one-on-one with an elementary student who has just completed kindergarten and whose educational plan includes a signing paraprofessional. Your expertise in American Sign Language will be central as you assist this student to fully engage and participate in classroom activities. If you are fluent in ASL or have basic skills with a strong desire to increase your proficiency, this could be an ideal position for your growth and development.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school settings Proficiency in American Sign Language is required; fluent practitioners are strongly preferred, but candidates who know basic ASL and are committed to learning are welcome Comfort and motivation to work closely with elementary-aged children Reliable transportation and willingness to commute within a geographically large area Ability to support a positive learning environment for students with unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide supportive, one-on-one paraprofessional services for an elementary student requiring ASL communication Collaborate with classroom teachers and the student's IEP team to ensure consistent and effective communication Participate as an active member of the education team, adapting to the student's evolving needs Foster both academic and social growth in a compassionate manner
