Open until filled This is a school term, job level 4 ($21.50-21.88 per hour), part time position serving youth ages 10 to 18 residing in a juvenile center. The work schedule is 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. with a working lunch on Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Wednesday.
A paraprofessional will:
Assist teachers in instructing students with Individual Education Plans by following teachers' directives. Assist teachers in addressing students' behavior. Assist teachers in meeting students' health and physical needs. (Examples include: lifting, changing diapers, toileting, feeding, restraining, and assistance with mobility) This position does not require a license, however, our paraprofessional positions require candidates to be considered "highly qualified" under the Code of Federal Regulations.
This status requires:
1) At least two years of college credits through an accredited institution of higher education (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits); or 2) An associate's or higher degree; or 3) A passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment demonstrating the knowledge and ability to assist with instruction in reading/language arts, writing, mathematics or readiness for each.
