Job Description

Adult Basic Literacy Assistant -
Student Support Location:
Adult Education Center - Blaine Learning Lab, 1201 89th Ave NE, Suite 3100, Blaine, MN 55434
Part-Time:
12 months/212 days/25 hours a week
Schedule:
Monday through Friday days; 8:30am-1:30pm, with a minimum of 3 evenings (3:30pm-8:30pm) a month-typically falling on a Tues/Thurs-with an adjusted schedule to accommodate time change.
Duties:
Provide classroom support and general program and staff support to include direct student contact in-person and online, record keeping, assessments, orientations, and student support activities. Collaborate with the team. Work independently. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong communication and organizational skills. Computer skills and data entry experience. Ability to work on a team. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building/on site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an ABE academic program with adults preferred. Experience working with diverse populations is preferred. Experience working in an academic, workforce, or school setting is preferred. For additional information, please email: meagan.hymes@ahschools.
