Job Description
We are looking for a warm, calm, experienced caregiver to support our two sons, ages 5 and 8, in our home in Eden Prairie. This is not a therapy position . We are looking for someone to provide childcare and support within our home who has professional experience working with children and is comfortable using positive, consistent behavioral strategies. Ideal background We would especially love to find someone with experience as a: Paraprofessional or special education paraprofessional In-home therapist or children's behavioral health professional PCIT-trained or PCIT-certified provider Child development, psychology, social work, or education professional Experienced caregiver who has worked with children with big emotions or behavioral challenges What we're looking for: Our ideal caregiver is warm, patient, playful, emotionally steady, and confident setting kind but firm boundaries. We want someone who can build a genuine relationship with our boys while maintaining consistency with the parenting strategies we already use. Our family has experience with Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) , so familiarity with PCIT is a major plus. We are not asking the caregiver to provide PCIT or any other therapy. Rather, we'd love someone who understands and can reinforce the same general approach and language already being used in our home. Responsibilities would include playing with the boys, supervising activities, helping with routines, preparing simple meals/snacks as needed, and providing attentive, engaged childcare. We are hoping to find someone who can become a trusted and consistent presence for our family rather than simply occasional babysitting.
