Job Description
Preschool Teacher's Assistant About us Peace Lutheran Preschool - Knowing, Growing and Sharing in Jesus! We offer all day and half day preschool options for 16 months through 5 years. The Teacher Assistant is an important part of the classroom and will work closely with the classroom teacher to develop a positive classroom learning environment.
Teacher Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teacher in carrying out lesson plans.
- Work with classroom teacher to prepare materials for lesson plan; projects, activities and classroom bulletin boards.
- Work with classroom teacher to determine daily tasks to carry out created lesson plans.
- Ensure all materials needed to carry out lesson plans are available prior to the start of the week.
- Implement Christian prayers, stories, music into daily curriculum following LCMS doctrine.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor the development of each child.
- Understand classroom routine and classroom schedule.
- Work with children in the classroom to promote learning and development.
- Interact with children individually or in small groups to support teacher in educational program.
- Assist in snack and lunch preparation and clean up.
- Communicate with parents about child's day and development.
- Assist in center cleaning according to center guidelines.
- Assist in planning and holding center events, such as Christmas Program, Family Fun Nights, Open House and Orientation
- Participate in monthly staff meetings, and professional development trainings as required by state licensing.
- Model Christianity-treating children, parents and fellow co-workers with loving care, concern and respect, helping create a positive environment for the preschool
