A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. Your responsibilities will include:
Actively supervising and engaging with children throughout the day Assisting Teachers with daily classroom routines, activities, and learning experiences Supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development Encouraging creativity through art, music, movement, games, outdoor play, and hands-on learning Helping children during meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, rest time, and classroom transitions Using positive guidance, redirection, and encouragement to support appropriate behavior Maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom Building positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers Greeting families and communicating professionally about their child's day Following all company policies and applicable health, safety, and childcare licensing requirements Responding appropriately to injuries or emergencies and completing required documentation Working collaboratively with Teachers and leadership to provide exceptional care for every child We're Looking for Someone Who Is At least 18 years old Caring, patient, dependable, and professional Energetic and comfortable staying active throughout the day Passionate about helping children learn and grow Reliable and committed to maintaining a consistent work schedule A positive team player who communicates respectfully Comfortable receiving feedback and learning new skills Able to remain calm and supportive during challenging situations Excited to build meaningful relationships with children and families Interested in growing within the field of early childhood education Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED preferred Previous childcare, preschool, caregiving, or classroom experience is preferred but not required Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to support classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques Willingness to complete required orientation and ongoing training Must successfully complete all required background study and employment screening requirements Must meet all applicable Minnesota childcare licensing and employment requirements CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; training may be provided Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
