About Us:

This is a part-time position as a Preschool Paraprofessional working with an Early Childhood Teacher to teach children age 3-5 at Hilltop Elementary. The hourly rate is $22.29-22.46. The shift is Monday to Thursday 7:15am to 2:45pm and 7:15am to 12pm Fridays. Our classrooms are welcoming spaces where all children are celebrated for who they are. We believe learning happens best when children play, explore and interact with their peers with the guidance of caring adults. The paraprofessional we are looking for can build genuine relationships with young children, enjoys active teaching and learning, maintains a calm, caring demeanor, and can work collaboratively with others. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with young children. Ability to build caring, respectful, and supportive relationships with students, families, and staff. Is inspired and challenged by active reflection, problem-solving, and on-going learning to improve practice. Ability to work collaboratively to build an effective team that shares responsibility, accountability, and accomplishments. Maintain timely, regular attendance.

Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: Help create and maintain an inclusive classroom environment that promotes caring and respect. Demonstrate warm and welcoming interactions with children and parents. Assist the preschool teacher with implementing preschool curriculum. Prepare instructional materials as requested by the teacher. Assist with small group activities. Facilitate children's play/interaction, under the guidance of the teacher. Assist with classroom supervision, using positive guidance and redirection techniques with children. Assist with classroom set-up and clean-up to maintain a safe and engaging environment. Assist in preparation and clean-up of snack. Assist children to and from bathroom facilities. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Attend educational classes, in-services and/or workshops as required. Perform other duties as requested by the Early Learning Coordinator and Directlor of Early Learning.

Salary and Benefits:

Starting pay range would be $22.29-22.46 per hour 10 Sick Days, 3 Personal Days, 8 Paid Holidays Health insurance options starting at no cost for single coverage Long term disability is provided and covered by IGHS Life Insurance is provided and covered by IGHS Tax Sheltered Annuities (403b) match on a dollar for dollar basis Both staff contribute 6.5% and IGHS contirbute 7.5% to a full-featured pension plan.
