Le Sueur-Henderson School District Position Summary :
Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered Special Education Paraprofessional to support middle and high school students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs. This position works closely with special education teachers, general education staff and related service providers to help students achieve academic, behavioral, social, and functional success within the school environment. The paraprofessional will support students with disabilities including Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), and Learning Disabilities (LD) in both special education and general education settings.
Primary Responsibilities :
Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students throughout the school day Assist students in accessing curriculum and completing classroom assignments Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), accommodations, and modifications Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to maintain a positive, structured learning environment Assist with behavior intervention plans and de-escalation strategies as needed Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, transitions, and other school settings Help students develop independence, organization, communication, and self-advocacy skills Assist with data collection and documentation related to student progress and behaviors Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding student information Support inclusion opportunities and positive peer interactions
Qualifications :
High school diploma required; post-secondary coursework or paraprofessional certification preferred Experience working with adolescents, students with disabilities, or in an educational setting preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered mindset Ability to follow instructional plans and behavior supports as directed
Schedule :
2026-2027 School year, 6.5 hours daily
